Changing the Guard: Goodbye, Mr. Rudd, and Welcome, Ms. Gillard!

On June 24 of 2010 morning, the majority of OZ people were shocked to learn
that the PM Kevin Rudd was suddenly ousted from his PM office overnight,
and the female deputy PM Julia Gillard was elected the new PM unopposed.
This event opened the new era of OZ politics. Finally a woman managed for
the first time to reach the summit of OZ politics. In my opinion, this is
a welcome change, because she has a much better public relation skill than
Kevin, who has kept taking a rather confronting (and one-man) approach
during his last three years of PM-ship, and his popularity plunged recently,
shortly after the unpopular mining tax policy was introduced, and ALP supporters
began fearing that his ALP government would probably lose at the coming
federal election.

Why did Kevin get such a fatal "red" card, before a warning "yellow" card?
Well, the matter was so urgent that they had no time to show him a "yellow"
card, or Kevin was so focused or blind that he could not see any "yellow"
sign all over his colleagues' faces. His so-called "kitchen" cabinet must
have been kept so dark...

I hope she would manage to lead a stable government, just like other first
female PMs, such as Margaret Thatcher in UK (1979-1990) and Helen Clark in NZ
(1999-2008). Besides it would be a great fun to imagine that Julia Gillard
in red hairs would keep a "colorful", intelligent and animated political
conversation with US president (Barack Obama) in black hairs, in both
Washington and Canberra.

Obama has introduced us his famous words: YES, We Can! encouraging the
people to take a new or brave step. Now Gillard is introducing us her own
words: Open the Door of Your Mind!, asking the people for their careful
reconsideration.

How about the political future of Kevin Rudd? If he is willing, he could
serve as a very skillful Foreign Minister of her cabinet, as he did in
the ALP shadow cabinet before he became the PM in 2007. He should confront
the Japanese government to stop the bloody "research" whaling by Japanese
whale industry, and the Israeli government to stop their genocidal blockage
of Gaza district for Palestine people, to begin with....
The major advantage in foreign affairs is that he does not have to handle
local OZ people.
In my opinion, Kevin could serve at best as the UN ambassador of Australia,
but not as the Foreign Minister under Julia's leadership. His ego is too strong
to keep quiet in the domestic issue. So he should stay in New York (UN office).

How about the possibility of the first female PM in Japan? For the present
moment, no sign is seen in horizon of the bloody "conservative" Japanese
political scene, very sadly. However, in a decade or two, perhaps a smart
woman politician called Renho Murata might emerge as such a PM candidate.
She is the youngest member of the current Democrats government (cabinet)
led by the newly elected PM Naoto Kann. Although she was born and educated
in Japan, her father is a Taiwanese and mother is a Japanese. So like Barack
Obama, she is a half (hybrid), looks so beautiful and has a very sharp mind.
Currently she is a member of the upper-house, and to be the PM, she has
to be elected a member of the lower-house in the future. In the coming upper
house election (July 11th), I shall vote for her.

Continued.
